Governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress on Wednesday night held what was considered an emergency meeting that also involved the leadership of the party.
The Governors met on the platform of the Progressives Governors’ Forum, which is chaired by the Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha.
The National Chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole, also attended the meeting.
Among governors at the meeting were the Lagos State Governor, Akinwumi Ambode, and his Ogun State counterpart, Ibikunle Amosun.
The details of the meeting could not be ascertained.
However, sources said it had to do with the mode of primaries as proposed by the leadership of the party for the 2019 polls.
While the party leadership approved direct primaries for the emergence of candidates for the polls, some states have gone ahead to adopt indirect primaries and consensus.
