It will be the turn of a former Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi, to be screened alongside seven others by the Senate as ministers of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on Tuesday (today).
The Senate’s Order Paper, which was made available on Tuesday morning, listed Amaechi’s name as number three for screening.
Amaechi’s screening was delayed because of a petition against him by a body, Integrity Group.
The petition was passed on to the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Petitions for investigation.
The committee’s report was only ready on Monday night, according to its Chairman, Senator Sam Anyanwu.
Others scheduled to be screened on Tuesday include Barrister Adebayo Shittu, a lawyer and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress from Oyo State.
Shittu is the first on the Order Paper.
A former Speaker of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, is second on the list, while a former First Lady of Yobe State, Kadijat Abba Ibrahim, is number four.
Niger State’s new representative, Bawa Bwari, is number five on the list.
Bwari was the replacement for a former Deputy Governor of Niger State, Alhaji Ahmed Musa Ibeto.
Also listed for screening in sixth, seventh and eight positions on the Order Paper are Okoli James from Kogi State, Mansur Mohammed from Zamfara State and Zainab Ahmed, the representative of Kaduna State
