The Akwa Ibom State Government has reiterated its readiness to partner with Fidelity Bank Plc in the areas of education, health, infrastructure and entertainment.
The Akwa Ibom State Governor, Obong Godswill Akpabio, who stated this Friday when the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Fidelity Bank Plc, Chief Christopher Ezeh, paid him a courtesy visit at the Governor’s Office, Uyo, remarked: “We have been able to turn around the rural areas of the state with about 6,000 projects and we have laid a solid foundation for the educational growth through free, compulsory education in the state.
“We have also transformed the health sector by the building of five specialist hospitals in the state with theatres, among them specializing in kidney transplant.
“And we are expecting about 150 medical expatriates to work and reside in the state in order to curb capital flight abroad for treatment, which Fidelity Bank can decide to partner on these sectors.
“The bank can also take interest in the Ibom Tropicana shopping mall that would be completed by July this year.
“And the bank can also partner the state in the construction of the Ikot-Ekpene-Aba Road.
“The bank can then look at the various sectors in which they can partner us.”
Akpabio, who thanked the Bank for extending its operational services to the state and for choosing the state for its Annual General Meeting, applauded the bank for being solid with a reputation of being reliable.
Speaking earlier, Ezeh said they were in the state for their Annual General Meeting and to partner the state for sustainable development.
He said the bank was a quality and developed one that is always on the move.
Ezeh, who explained that the bank would provide greater plans for the future, hinted that it is their ambition to establish at least 10 branches of the bank in the state, stressing that they are relying on the state government to show and pave the way for them.
The Chairman, who applauded Akpabio for the massive infrastructural transformation of the state, said Akwa Ibom State is their next target.
