Fans at the Akure Township Stadium in Ondo State allegedly attacked Shooting Stars Sports Club General Manager, Rasheed Balogun, and the team’s coordinator, Abubakar Abubakar, during a NPFL Week 9 tie between Sunshine Stars and the Oluyole War Lords on Sunday.
Sunshine Stars triumphed 2-1, but the game was marred by violence.
An eyewitness hinted that the unruly fans descended on Balogun and Abubakar, aka Dan Fulani, after 3SC equalized through Tope Orelope, with both administrators sustaining various degrees of injuries.
Balogun and Dan Fulani were immediately rushed to the hospital.
Balogun said: “It was God that saved me because at a point I thought I was going to die.
“I lost money, wrist watch and other valuables in the process.”
