Governor Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom State has commended Mr. Umana Okon Umana, the immediate past secretary to the state government, for his contribution to the success of the present administration in the state.
In a passionate letter of appreciation to Umana dated 31 July 2013, Akpabio states, the Governor states, “On behalf of the government and good people of Akwa Ibom State, I write to convey to you my profound gratitude for the worthy contributions you made to the development of our dear state while you served as the secretary to the state government from Friday, 1st June 2007 to Tuesday, 30th July 2013.”
The governor acknowledged Umana’s “commitment and dedication to duties as a member of the State Executive Council,” which “contributed immensely to the achievements recorded by my administration,” and ended by wishing the former SSG “every success in all your future endeavours.”
In an earlier press statement, Umana had thanked Governor Akpabio for the opportunity given to him to serve the state, and wished the governor “the very best as he continues to lead our dear state in the direction of our collective dream.”
Umana also thanked Akwa Ibom people for their support during his service in government, urging them to keep up their support for the administration.
He also congratulated his successor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel for his “meritorious appointment,” wishing him “every success in office.”
