The First Lady, Aisha Buhari, has offered explanation for her outburst in the Presidential Villa in a leaked video.
Hajia Buhari, who had earlier confirmed the video was real on her return from the United Kingdom after a long absence from the country, spoke in an interview with the BBC Hausa Service.
According to available information, the apartment in which she engaged in the outburst was being occupied by the family of President Muhammadu Buhari’s close confidant, Mamman Daura, but asked to vacate it for the first son of the President, Yusuf, when he was involved in an accident.
However, the family was allegedly foot dragging in vacating the apartment, hence the First Lady’s move to secure it for her son.
But the area was locked when she went there.
Hajia Buhari told the BBC: “I was the one in the video.
“Those behind me were the security personnel given to protect me, but Mamman Daura’s daughter, Fatima, shot the video in the presence of security officials and everybody.
“She was laughing at me because my husband said they should vacate the place for my son to occupy.
“I wanted to pass through that door to go into a store but they closed the door.
“I took an alternative route but the door was still locked.”
