Super Eagles’ forward, Ahmed Musa, is set to take his pound of flesh when his CSKA Moscow side files out against English Premier League giants, Manchester City, in a Group D tie of the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday at the Etihad Stadium.
Musa, whose goal against Man City was disqualified last week Wednesday, believes they can cancel out the 2-1 deficit and go on to the next stage of the competition.
“We have so much respect for Manchester City but I think we are better prepared for this one and equalling have the qualities to overrun them in the second leg in England,” Musa opined.
It will be recalled that the Moscow side lost 1-2 after Sergio Aguero netted a brace for the English side.
The Russian outfit, however, feeling they should have earned a point when with 10 minutes to go, Musa smashed the ball into the top corner of the net from 20-yards out.
But the goal was disallowed, the match official claiming that a high foot had nearly made contact with Yaya Toure’s head.
Musa said: “To me it was a good goal.
I would have loved to see it stand because it would have given us a point from the game, but the referee felt otherwise.
“He has the final say.
“I was not happy that we lost the game, but that is football.
“We look forward to a positive result in the next game.”
The Russian side are in third place in Group D, trailing Bayern Munich and Manchester City by three and six points respectively.
