President Goodluck Jonathan on Sunday paid an unscheduled visit to Kano, Kano State to visit the victims of the explosions that rocked the city on Friday and also commiserate with the people and Government of the state.
Jonathan, who arrived the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano, at about 3.15pm, visited the survivors on their hospital beds.
He also paid a visit to the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero.
Jonathan said after the visit: “I have just returned from Kano to condole with the government and people of Kano as well as HRM the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero and the message I had for the people of Kano is the same message I have for all Nigerians: A terrorist attack on one person is an attack on all of us.”
Jonathan was criticized for his late response to the explosions.
His reaction came almost 24 hours after the blast in which over 162 persons died though the government said only seven were confirmed dead.
