A former Green Eagles player, Felix Owolabi, on Sunday described Coach Stephen Keshi’s attitude towards the selection of quality players as stubborn.
The former Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan board member told the News Agency of Nigeria that the coach’s attitude of sidelining players he has personal issues with has killed the team.
NAN reports that Super Eagles lost 0-1 to Sudan in its qualifying match towards the 2015 Nations Cup.
Owolabi said: “Keshi does not know how to manage success.
“He is stubborn and he has managed to sideline players that could have helped us.
“The result of Saturday’s match has shown that we may not qualify and it’s sad and embarrassing.
“We were bragging about how we were going to defeat Sudan, while Sudan was plotting our fall.
“Our defence and midfield was in shamble.”
