Tunisia and Congo DR have qualified for the last eight of the Africa Cup of Nations after playing out a 1-1 draw on Monday.
Tunisia finished top of Group B with five points from three games, while Congo DR joined them thanks to the fact that they have scored one more goal than Cape Verde, who were only able to draw 0-0 with Zambia in Monday night’s other game.
Meanwhile, the 2012 AFCON champions, Zambia, crashed out of this year’s competition in the group stage following a goalless draw with Cape Verde.
The match in Ebebiyin could have been called off because of terrible conditions, but the officials saw the 90 minutes through and neither side was able to earn the victory they needed to progress.
