A chairmanship aspirant in Guyuk Local Government Area of Adamawa State in the upcoming poll in the state, Ayuba Bamaiyi, the Ajiyan Lunguda, has said he is out to consolidate on the manifestoes of the All Progressives Congress of change if voted into power.
Bamaiyi said this when he stormed the party secretariat in Yola with hundreds of his supporters to pick the nomination form for the forthcoming Local government election in the state.
He stressed that Guyuk is in dire need of change-oriented people who are passionate about reviving the economy of the area to an enviable stage.
He said this would be with the knowledge that the place is richly endowed with a lot of minerals resources but no good leaders to facilitate how it will be harnessed.
He said: “Look at how Kiri Dam is lying fallow without anybody harnessing from its potentials.
“Look at how limestone and other minerals resources are heavily stocked in Guyuk and no one is harnessing it.
“We have vast land and arable in nature.
“I will make sure I introduce my people to irrigation farming and empower youths to have business concepts.”
Bamaiyi however said his ambition of becoming the Chairman of Guyuk LG is predicated on the pressure he is constantly receiving by his kinsmen to change the entire LG that is suffering from the crutches of poor development as a result of previous leadership defects.
