The Adamawa State Chapter of the Inter-Party Advisory Council said the State’s Independent Electoral commission collaborated with the All Progressives Congress to rig Saturday’s Local Government election in favour of the ruling party in the state.
This was contained in a statement made available to journalists at the secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists in Yola.
It said: “In all the 21 Local Governments, there is nowhere the elections started as scheduled and the materials for the election were hoarded for the APC use only.”
According to the statement signed by the IPAC chairperson in Adamawa State, Mallam Sa’ad Adamu, very few materials were made available in some few units.
Sensitive materials meant for the election did not reach their destinations in some cases and therefore election did not hold at all in such areas and where it held, materials were inadequate.
The statement further said: “ADSIEC failed woefully in its preparation toward this elections because from day one they were not sincere.
“In the spirit of fair play we call on ADSIEC to out rightly cancel the so-called election and prepare for a fresh one where all stakeholders will participate in the preparation.”
