Two political parties have resolved to work for the success of Chief Emanuel Bello, the governorship candidate of Social Democratic Party in Adamawa State, for Saturday’s election.
The political parties, All Blending Party and Africa Action Congress, made this known in Yola on Wednesday after a stakeholders’ meeting.
The governorship candidates of ABP, Dr. Daniel Shaga, and his counterpart in AAC, Alhaji Lawan Uba, said they endorsed Bello in the overall interest of the state.
Shaga said: “My party has conceded to support and to work with Chief Emmanuel Bello of SDP.
“I call on party members, my supporters and the people of Adamawa who wish the state good to support SDP.
“We hope to meet after Saturday to celebrate victory.”
Also speaking, Uba of AAC said they decided to team up with SDP because of Bello’s credentials as a selfless and detribalised politician.
He said the SDP candidate was committed to the Adamawa project in certain areas.
“For instance I share the same views with him on fighting corruption and socio economic transformation of Adamawa,” Uba said.
Bello on his part described the decision to support him by the two parties and their supporters at this critical time as unique and highly appreciated.
Bello said the two candidates were formidable, adding that would add a big boost to SDP chances of winning the election.
“We now need to work harder to ensure smooth victory for SDP on Saturday,” Bello said.
