The All Progressives Congress in Adamawa State has assured all aspirants who bought forms to contest for different positions in the upcoming local government election in the state of a level playing field.
Addressing the press on Monday after a meeting of the State Working Committee of the party in Yola, the state Vice Chairman of the party, Alhaji Mohammed Abdullahi, who spoke on decision reached by the committee, said the committee was committed to free and fair primaries among all aspirants.
Abdullahi said: “The State Working Committee of the party urged all aspirants for the local council election to embrace peace in their campaign.”
Abdullahi said the committee also adopted the list of party executives from state, local governments and wards levels sent from the national headquarters for the purpose of the party primaries.
He also said the committee has resolved that the position of those who engage in anti-party activities, defected or died would remain vacant during the primary elections.
