Speaking while presenting his report, the outgoing Secretary-General, Colonel Musa Shehu (retired), said that the forum played a very vital role in the 2011 general election by creating a level playing ground in the zoning and rotation of power between the North and South.
Shehu said that the ACF contributed positively to the 1999 Constitution amendment and in dealing with security challenges in the country.
“ACF had participated in the security intervention programme of the Federal Government where it recommended some measures to be adopted in tackling the insecurity in Borno and some parts of the North,” he said.
According to him, the ACF also promoted peaceful co-existence and unity in the country through various programmes, including advocacy visits to Plateau State and some flash-points in parts of southern Kaduna State.
