The popular Conoil filling station, opposite the headquarters of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation in Abuja, was gutted fire Thursday afternoon.
The fire, which raged for hours, started when a tanker discharging fuel suddenly exploded, causing panic as huge smoke enveloped the entire Central Business District of the Capital City..
However, the NNPC Fire Service came to the rescue as the officials put up spirited effort to put off the fire.
The filling station is known for always having fuel even during fuel scarcity.
