The Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, has reacted to the outcome of the Osun State governorship election, which his party, All Progressives Congress, lost to the Peoples Democratic Party.
The candidate of the PDP, Ademola Adeleke, defeated Aregbesola’s successor and APC flag bearer, Gboyega Oyetola.
Reacting to the development, Aregbesola, who was in Germany as the election held, said on his social media handles: “This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men. (Daniel 4:17).”
He then went on to add: “Osun le tente.”
Translated, it means: “Osun is perching delicately.”
Adeleke won the election with 403,371 votes across 17 Local Government Areas, while Oyetola polled 375,027 votes in 13 LGAs.
However, Aregbesola was to later delete the post.
