As the Nigeria National League gets a date for the beginning of the 2020/2021 season, Ilorin-based Abubakar Bukola Saraki FC’s Technical Adviser, Anthony Encho, says “partying is over for the boys”.
The ABS Cameroon-born Technical Adviser told the News Agency of Nigeria on Saturday in Ilorin that the team’s group was a tough one and needed all they could do to excel.
The NAN reports that ABS is in Group A2 of the abridged 2020/2021NNL as announced by the league’s management during its Annual General Meeting on Friday in Abakaliki, Ebonyi.
The NNL management also set the commencement date for the competition for Saturday, Jan. 30, this year.
Others teams in Group A2 are: Kebbi United, Malumfashi FC of Katsina, DMD FC of Maiduguri, FC Zamfara, Niger Tornadoes, Kogi United FC of Lokoja, Yobe Desert Stars FC of Damaturu and Real Stars FC of Kaduna.
Encho said: “It is time to get down to business, and partying is over for the boys.
“Our group is a tough one.
“We have many football power houses here but we will give our best to succeed.
“We have prepared enough for this day to come.
“So, it is time to get to business and work very hard to be the best in the group.”
One of his players, Shola Oketade, a young striker, said: “Yes, we are ready to do it.
“This is the time.”
Another player, Emmanuel Atoe, reacting, said: “I don’t know about you guys but I see us coming out of this group as number one at the end of the season.”
Abdulraheem Saad, another player, said this was what they had been waiting for and they were ready for it.
Yet another, Olamide Mudasir, expressed confidence on the team’s promotion this season.
The Coach of the team, Shuaib Abdulkadir, popularly known as No Fear, said: “We are ready for the battle.”
