Abubakar Bukola Saraki Ilorin FC on Friday defeated Crown Football Club of Ogbomoso 2-1 at the Soun Township Stadium, Ogbomoso, in a friendly match.
The hosts had gone ahead as early as the third minute before the Saraki Boys settled into the game.
Crown attacker, Moses Ajik, had capitalised on ABS defensive blunder to tap home from close range in a goal mouth scramble.
The visitors 20 minutes later benefitted from the hosts’ defensive mistake when Effiom Bassey followed up an effort which had almost gone in and quickly tapped in from a close range before the Crown defenders could clear their line.
The visitors responded better to half time team talk as they went ahead 10 minutes into the restart.
Deemua Best beautifully found an unmarked Tosin Olabode in far right who wasted no time in setting himself one on one with the Crown goalkeeper before he beat him to his far left for 1-2.
Crown attackers will have themselves to blame for not converting many of their goal scoring opportunities.|
The friendly match was the third in a series, with the previous two ending in goalless draws.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the Saraki Boys will battle for promotion Group A2 of the abridged format Nigeria National League.
NAN also reports that the 2017/2018 Nigeria National League is scheduled to commence on March 31.
