Team Nigeria on Friday displaced Algeria in the third position on the overall medals table at the ongoing 11th African Games holding in Brazzaville.
Algeria had been occupying the third spot since the beginning of the Games
Team Nigeria now has 41 gold, 50 silver and 37 bronze medals, a total 128 medals, while Algeria has 38 gold, 41 silver and 38 bronze, a total of 117 medals and occupying the fourth position.
Egypt is still topping the table, followed by South Africa in the second.
Nigeria had added five gold medals won from wrestling and three more from athletics to gain the edge over Algeria.
The Games continue with events in athletics, wrestling, taekwondo, table tennis, tennis, powerlifting, basketball and handball.
