Prof. Monday Tommy Joshua has been appointed as the new Executive Secretary for the National Commission of Colleges of Education, according to a statement.
The statement, which was signed by Suleiman Garba, the Deputy Director of the Public Relations Directorate of the NCCE, was made available on Tuesday in Abuja.
It stated that Joshua assumed office on June 1.
It added that Joshua was until his appointment the Registrar of the National Examinations Council.
A professor of Education Research, Measurement and Evaluation from University of Calabar, Joshua is an astute academician and administrator involved in the production of teachers for the education sector and human development.
The statement noted that the board, management and staff of the NCCE had congratulated Joshua on his appointment and assured him of their support.
The appointment followed the retirement of the former Executive Secretary, Prof. Muhammad Junaid, who left office in March 2015.
Junaid, who assumed duty in April 2007, served the commission for eight years.
