The University of Ibadan chapter of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has clarified that academic Staff of the Institution are on total and comprehensive strike as directed by the national leadership of the Union.
It advised parents and the public against releasing their wards for the purported resumption at its distance learning Unit.
The institution’s Chairman, Professor Ayoola Akinwole in a statement Wednesday morning said members would not be available for physical and virtual teaching.
Apparently reacting to reports that the Distance Learning Centre(DLC) of the institution has called off the strike, Akinwole insisted that Academic staff of the institution are solidly prosecuting the strike which is aimed at getting the best resources for training, teaching, research and better welfare for her members from the Federal Government.
