27 killed in fresh Boko Haram attacks in Borno

No fewer than 27 persons have been killed in fresh attacks in Borno State by the dreaded Boko Haram sect.
The Chairman of Gamboru-Ngala Local Government Area of Borno State, Modu-Gana Sheriiff, told newsmen on Saturday that the 27 persons were killed in Fulatari and Kanumburi wards of his local government area.
The attacks were carried out on Wednesday and Thursday nights.
Sheriff said: “The first attack occurred about 11 o’clock in the evening on Wednesday while the second was carried out last Thursday at about 10 o’clock in the evening.
“In the first attack, six people were killed and four others sustained injuries in Fulatari, while 21 people lost their lives in the second attack, including the Village Head of Gamboru, Lawan Ali Shettima, and two others sustained bullet injuries and are now receiving treatment.”
Sheriff has already visited the families of the deceased.
He donated N100,000 and a bag of rice to each of the affected families and N500,000 to members of the youth vigilante group in the area, whose members were also killed.
