The flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress for Oyo Central Senatorial District, Teslim Folarin, has been declared the winner of Saturday’s election.
Folarin won in six local governments out of the 11 that make up the senatorial district.
The former Senate Leader won in Oluyole, Ọna-ara, Egbeda, Surulere, Ogo-Oluwa and Lagelu Local Government Areas.
He defeated Oyebisi Ilaka of the Peoples Democratic Party with 91,080 to 83,600 votes.
The Returning Officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission for the District, Prof. Idowu Peter Farai, declared Folarin the winner of the contest.
Farai declared: “Teslim Folarin of APC, having certified the requirement of the law, is hereby declared the winner of the Oyo Central Senatorial Elections.”
