Giwa to Pinnick, Keyamo: Respect Nigeria’s laws

Factional President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Barrister Chris Giwa, has told his co-challenger for the NFF seat, Amaju Pinnick, and his lawyer, Festus Keyamo, to respect the laws of Nigeria.
Giwa said Pinnick remains sacked by an order of the Federal High Court sitting in Jos, Plateau State from overseeing the affairs of the NFF and should respect the ruling.
In a statement on his behalf by Effiong Johnson, who is the Chairman of Chairmen of his own faction of the NFF, Giwa told Pinnick and Keyamo to respect the laws of the land.
According to the statement, Johnson said: “If the Pinnick group will not succumb to the laws of Nigeria including our judiciary, why are they running to the Nigerian Police?” Johnson asked.
“If it is true that no such court order giving us the room to manage the affairs of Nigerian football pending the substantive matter before the court is decided, what are they seeking for leave to appeal for?
“At no time did FIFA urge or encourage member nations not to respect the laws of the land including going to court. They needed to have read the decision of the Court of Arbitration for Sports.”
Giwa said he would be dragging Pinnick and Keyamo to the appropriate authorities for impersonation in view of a valid court order.
He said the court had ordered Pinnick to vacate his office, adding: “Good enough, all institutions that are supposed to be informed including banks have been duly served as at last Friday evening including the Inspector General’s office, the security agencies and the sports minister about the order of court.”
