No fewer than four million muslim worshippers on Saturday converge on Bauchi in Bauchi State to attend the 29th Annual Malaud of Sheikh Ibrahim Nyass tagged: “Sheikh Week.”
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the occasion, which took place at the IBB Square in Bauchi, featured discussions by various Islamic clergies and scholars on various topics.
Utaz Ahmed Tijjani, the Chairman of the Contact and Protocol Committee, told NAN that the lectures would be documented by the Islamic sect, the Tijjaniya Movement, to serve as guide for the faithful.
Tijjani said some of the topics discussed were chosen from Europe, Africa and Middle-East.
The chairman said the annual Maulud was also to commemorate the birth of Sheikh Ibrahim Nyass, especially his contributions to the development of Islam in Africa.
Tijjani said participants came from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Senegal, Sudan and other countries for the global event.
