No fewer than 47 persons are feared dead as multiple explosions on Saturday hit Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.
Three explosions hit the town, a development said to he the worst since the attempt by Boko Haram to seize Maiduguri in January.
A tricycle rider with a bomb was said to have made an attempt to enter a fish market on Baga Road, but the explosive went off when the tricyclist was prevented from going in.
The second blast was said to have occurred at Monday Market.
The third was a car bomb explosion close to a bus station near a Department of State Services office.
Emergency workers and hospital sources put the casualty figure at not less than 47 as at press time.
