No fewer than 42 colleges of education have arrived in Minna for the 18th Nigerian College of Education Games Association, holding at the Niger State College of Education, Minna.
Jonathan Aire, the Sub-committee Secretary on Accommodation for the Games, made the disclosure in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Friday.
The Games is scheduled to hold from November 1 to 9.
Aire: “So far, we have received 42 Colleges of Education participating in the NICEGA games, but we are still expecting over 50 colleges.”
Aire said that 42 colleges that had arrived came with a total of 1,491 contingents, which comprised 891 males, 500 females and 100 officials.
He said the contingents would be accommodated at the Niger State College of Education for easy access to the games village and competitions venues.
The sub-committee secretary said that security was another reason for accommodating the athletes and the officials at the Niger State College of Education venue of the games.
Meanwhile, Tolulope Adebayo, an athlete from College of Education Abeokuta, told NAN that the accommodation and security arrangements were good.
NAN observed that all participants and visitors entering the host institution were screened for the Ebola Virus disease.
