3,680 Law School graduates called to the Bar

The 3,680 students who successfully went through the Law School last year have been certified fit for call to the Bar.
The decision was taken today by the Body of Benchers at a meeting in Abuja.

Those approved for call to the Bar include  14 candidates who had first class, 243 second class upped, 1041 lower divisions and 2,377 who had passes.
Five other students who missed the October 2011 call to the bar due to various reasons were also accepted to be called to the Bar.
The meeting was held at the Supreme Court, with Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Dahiru Musdapher, presiding.
A 14-member committee constituted in January 2012 made the recommendations to the Body of Benchers.
Idowu Sofola chaired the committee and had members including Justice Mariam Aloma-Muktar, Justice I. E. Akande, Segun Onakona, Ofodeli Okafor (SAN), HRH Olateru-Olagbeji, Ibrahim Tahir, R.A Lawal Rabana (SAN), Yusuf Ali (SAN) and Dele Adesina (SAN), while H.A Turaki served as secretary of the committee.
