Nigeria senior women team, the Super Falcons, have commenced camping in Abuja ahead of the forthcoming Namibia 2014 Africa Women Championship later this year.
Falcons’ coach, Edwin Okon, informed that the screening will be elimination by substitution to get the required and needed ones from a pool 34 invited players for the camp.
Okon added that he is delighted with the friendly match with Cameroon, believing the game is good test ahead of the AWC qualifier against Rwanda.
Okon said: “Nigeria has so many players and we have replacement for whoever is not up to our standard.
“This is just the beginning of the camp and everything is okay.
“It is good that we are playing Cameroon because my disciples will be ever ready.
“We are just like boys scout and brigade, we are ever ready.
“Though, I heard that the Cameroonians have been in camp since December, but that is not a problem.
“We will try our best and use the match to screen players too.”
Meanwhile, 20 players took part in the team’s first and only training on Wednesday morning, as the rest of the players will arrive camp on Wednesday evening.
Those called up are Precious Dede, Tochi Oluehi, Ibubeleye White, Charity John, Dikachi Uzor, Josephine Chukwunonye, Maria Nwoko, Osinachi Ohale, Gloria Ofoegbu, Ngozi Ebere, Blessing Edoho, Ayomide Ojo, Alani Aminat, Mariam Ibrahim, Joy Anthony Ajah, Onyinyechi Ohadugha, Evelyn Nwabuoku, Edith Eduviere, Kafayat Ajani, Jane David, Adejoke Ejalonibu, Rachel Akpojortor.
Others are Esther Sunday, Yetunde Aluko, Ngozi Okobi, Tawa Ishola,Elizebeth Zirike, Abosede Oluwakemi, Gloria Ogbonna, Cecilia Nku, Humble Nelson, Miracle Ozubbu, Stella Mbachu and Chinyere Igboamalu.
