At least 34 persons have been confirmed dead during a fight that broke out at a cattle market in Tike, Potiskum, Yobe State.
Sources told The Eagle Online that the fight broke out on Wednesday.
It was learnt that three persons died on Wednesday when the fight broke out.
But at it escalated, with the use of dangerous weapons such as guns and dynamites, the number of casualty increased.
It was learnt that the attack on the market was a reprisal by armed bandits who had stormed the market last week.
The cattle farmers at the market were said to have overpowered the armed robbers, killing three of them and capturing five.
One of those killed was set ablaze.
The robbers reportedly went back to mobilise, storming the market on Wednesday.
During the attack, in which they used dangerous weapons, they also set the market ablaze.
Normalcy was yet to return to Tike as at the time of filing this report.
