The Police in Lagos Friday arraigned a 25-year-old man, Oluwajuwon Olaleye, before a Badagry Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing a motorcycle valued N255,000.
Olaleye, is standing trial on a charge of stealing, to which he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, ASP. Akpan Nko, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on February 25, at 11.00 p.m. on Zunve Road, Ilogbo Eremi, in Badagry area of Lagos State.
Nko told the court that the defendant allegedly stole a Bajaj motorcycle with Registration number KRD 459 QM valued N255,000, belonging to one Daniel Michael, the complainant.
“The defendant was caught when he was planning to sell the stolen motorcycle and handed over to the police for prosecution,” the prosecutor said.
Nko related that the offence contravenes Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The Chief Magistrate, Patrick Adekomaiya, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N300,000, with two sureties in like sum.
Adekomaiya adjourned the case until March 29 for mention.
