Police officers attached to the Ogudu Police Station in Lagos State are investigating the mysterious death of a 22-year-old man, Kingley Onyeka Raphael, a domestic staff, who was found dead in the bottom of a swimming pool in his boss’ house on Babatunde Asimi Street, Ogudu GRA.
Kingley’s corpse was found in the swimming pool on the morning of October 27, 2012.
His neck was said to have been twisted but there were no injuries on his body.
Following Kingley’s sudden death, his family members, who reported the incident to the police, said they are suspecting foul play and have subsequently petitioned the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Umar Manko, asking for a thorough investigation.
Eyewitnesses account also had it that Kingley had no visible injuries on his body except a twisted neck.
The Eagle Online was told that he never complained of any sickness before his sudden death.
With this suspicion, the family members are alleging that he was strangled and dumped in the pool.
A source, who requested anonymity, stated that Kingsley made a dinner of pap for himself, which he did not eat, until he was discovered dead.
The source added: “That pap was still on the kitchen table, with his cap near the bowl of pap.”
The source equally added that Kingsley and his boss, Tunde Williams, a retired accountant, had a misunderstand a month earlier, which almost got Kingsley fired.
Kingsley wanted to leave his job but his elder brother begged him to stay because he needed the money for school.
It was learnt that the police have begun investigation into the case and are planning to carry out an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
A police source stated that some persons have been invited for questioning over the death.
Recently, two young staff of a Chinese company were also found dead in the company swimming pool in Ikeja, Lagos State.
