No fewer than 22 persons were killed in a fresh attack in Plateau State.
The attack was carried out by suspected Fulani herdsmen in Mavo village, Wase Local Government Area.
The fresh attack is coming barely two days that 30 people were killed in two communities in Riyom Local Government Area of the state.
No fewer than 10 houses were reportedly burnt in the attack on Mavo.
The attackers reportedly stormed the village at about 2am.
The number of the suspected Fulani herdsmen could not be obtained but they were said to be in their hundreds.
The Interim Administrator of Wase Local Government Area, Zakari Haruna, confirmed the attack.
Haruna, who declined to give the casualty figure, said peace had been restored to Mavo.
The spokesperson of the Plateau State Police Command, Felicia Anselm, also confirmed the development.
Anselm said: “I am yet to get the details of the incident.
“I am expecting the field reports from our men on the ground.”
