The National Chairman of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Iyorchia Ayu said he remains the party’s head and he has no plan to resign.

Ayu insisted he will not resign now or in the future having been given a four-year mandate to lead the opposition party.

He made his resolve public via tweets by his Media Aide, Simon Imobo-Tswam, on Monday.

“The PDP National Chairman, Dr. Iyiochia Ayu, has not resigned and has no plan of resigning.

“For clarity and emphasis, he was elected for a tenure of four years” Ayu tweets read

The PDP National Chair outburst followed the pressure on him to resign

Recall that Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has once declared that one of the conditions for him to reconcile with and work for the first opposition presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar is the demand that Ayu should exit from the position.
