The highest advisory body – the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is presently holding a meeting at the party’s headquarters in Abuja.
The meeting is aimed at finding a lasting solution to end the rift between the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike and the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
The crisis deepened due to Atiku’s choice of Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, as his running mate.
The crucial meeting is being presided over by BoT Chairman, Walid Jibrin.
Earlier, Jibrin had announced that the panel will recommend how constituted members of a reconciliation committee will meet with the Rivers State Governor in pacifying aggrieved Wike and ensuring that he works for the party’s victory.
The opposition BOT leader is expected to brief the press after its meeting later today.
