Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa has expressed delight with the acceptance of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) by the people of the state ahead of the 2023 general elections.
Sule, in a statement he personally signed and made available to newsmen Monday in Lafia, the capital city, commended the people for their support during the first phase of the campaign rallies across the state.
“The massive turnout of men, women and especially the youth as witnessed at all the venues is indicative of the strength, love and acceptance of the APC in our dear state,” he said.
The governor said that the speeches extolling the numerous achievements of their administration, the suggestions and the promise of votes during the 2023 election, served as encouragement and added impetus to do more for the people.
“I must also commend the exemplary unity of purpose, that we continue to see among all strata of leadership and elders of our party,” he said.
Sule also thanked the people of the state for the assurance of votes for the Presidential Candidate, Bola Tinubu and all candidates of the APC at all levels.
He said that the first phase of the campaign tour was a huge success and an eloquent testimony of the confidence of the people in the APC and its candidates.
“I am especially grateful to Allah for a peaceful outing devoid of any reported case of accidents, destruction or loss.
“We remain very grateful to all our leaders and supporters who spared their time to go everywhere with us,” he said.
Sule, however, condemned the squabbles amongst supporters at Toto, Keana and the Emir’s Palace in Lafia, as a result of the fall out of the APC primaries.
He apologised to party faithful who felt insulted, due to unsavory comments, chants and aggression displayed by some of the youth.
The governor said that the attacks were indeed regrettable, ‘’we are carrying out full investigations in order to stop such unfortunate incidents.’’
He urged supporters of the party to always maintain decorum and respect constituted authority.
Sule said that the party had always demonstrated their unity as one big family, adding that they would work for the success of whoever that emerged as their candidate.
