There were indications on Sunday that the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is set to return to Nigeria.
The Eagle Online recalls that the former two-term Governor of Lagos State left Nigeria for the UK about 10 days ago.
This made him to miss the official date for the kick-off of campaigns as fixed by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
The electoral umpire had fixed September 28, 2022 for the commencement of campaigns for the 2023 elections.
A former Minister of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, was one of those who represented Tinubu at a Muslim prayer to mark the commencement of the campaign.
According to sources, Tinubu is expected to return to Nigeria on Monday.
