National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, Chief Victor Oye, has assured members that the party would conduct free and fair primaries ahead of the 2019 general elections.
Oye gave the assurance in Awka on Thursday while addressing party faithful.
He said “if we don’t conduct credible primaries in APGA, we are destined for doom.
He said: “Anyone who wins the party’s primary will have his name submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission.
“Our governor, Chief Willie Obiano, is an honest and loyal man, and has continuously assured us of free and fair primaries.”
Expressing confidence that APGA would dominate the polls in Anambra and record new feats in other states, Oye said: “we are leveraging the achievements of the APGA-led government in Anambra”.
The party faithful had accompanied Kenneth Aniemena, a chieftain of the party in Awka on a visit to the national chairman.
Aniemena had assured that the party would provide democratic dividends to the people of the state.
He appealed to the party leadership to ensure free and credible primaries ahead of 2019.
