The State House has proposed N698 million in 2018 for the stocking of Aso Clinic, even as N1.5 billion is earmarked for the replacement of operational vehicles.
The First Lady, Aisha Buhari had cried out last year that ordinary Panadol was not available in the State House clinic .
However, the Permanent Secretary, State House, Jalal Arabi, revealed the figure for stocking the clinic when he appeared before the Senate Committee on Federal Character and Intergovernmental Affairs.
Jalal told the committee that the proposal for 2018 is N15.479 billion, an increase of N2 billion when compared to that of 2017.
He explained that the increase was largely due to the need to stock its medical centre (Aso Clinic) with required drugs and medical equipments.
According to him, the clinic, which had zero allocation for capital projects last year, will get N698.728 million this year for proper drugs stocking and other medical equipment.
He also explained further that another reason for the increase was the need for the State House to change many of the security vehicles in the convoy of the President under the Office of the Chief Security Officer.
