A section of people from the central and southern senatorial districts of Plateau State have commended a former Ambassador to Namibia, Ambassador Bagudu Hirse, over his emergence as the governorship flag bearer of the Labour Party in the state.
The Plateau State Coordinator of the Youth Vanguard, James Jiwa, equally drummed the support of the youth group for Hirse ahead of the 2015 general elections.
Jiwa condemned the recent twin bomb blasts in the capital city, which led to the loss of lives.
The former Minister of State for Foreign Affairs emerged the sole governorship candidate of the Labour Party in Plateau State.
The Independent National Electoral Commission has affirmed him as the LP governorship candidate for the stature.
Sources at the party’s secretariat hinted that the choice of the former Ambassador was arrived at shortly after the Peoples Democratic Party elected Senator G.N.S. Pwajok as its flag bearer, a decision that now threatens the party’s cohesion regarding next year’s election.
