Emmanuel Yaro, the Nasarawa State Secretary of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, on Friday said the party was ready to tackle the security challenges and other problems in the state if elected in 2015.
Yaro stated this when he led other executive members and aspirants of the party on a visit to the former Minister of Information, Labaran Maku, in Wakama, Nasarawa State.
He said the party would adopt positive strategies that would end the communal clashes between the various ethnic groups in the state if elected in 2015.
Yaro told Maku: “We are here to felicitate and celebrate with you and your family on the occasion of the New Year and to assure you of our continued support to enable you to achieve your gubernatorial ambition under this platform come 2015.
“As you can see, the party has got all the necessary ingredients to win all the elective positions in the state come 2015.
“I want to assure you and the people of the state that our great party, APGA, will solve the security challenges in the state.
“The security challenges facing Nasarawa State would soon be over under APGA Government in 2015.
“This is because our party has the ingredients and strategies that would solve the security problems and restore lasting peace in the state.”
Yaro expressed optimism that the party would win the state in the 2015 general elections, given the massive support it enjoyed among the people.
He appealed to the people of the state to shun ethnic and religious politics.
Yaro also assured the people of the state of good governance and equal representation, if the party emerged victorious in the 2015 general elections.
He urged the party supporters to respect constituted authority and to be law abiding in the interest of peace and national development.
Yaro also called on the people of the state and Nigerians at large to vote President Goodluck Jonathan for second term in order to enjoy more dividends of democracy.
Responding, Maku thanked the party leadership and aspirants of the party for the visit.
Maku urged them to continue to spread the gospel of the party to win more support ahead of the 2015 general elections.
He said: “I want to assure you and the people of the state that my political ambition to become the governor of Nasarawa State come 2015 is still on course and intact.”
According to Maku, there is no amount of intimidation from any group that will stop it.
