The U-17 female national team, the Flamingoes, have been drawn in Group D alongside Mexico, Colombia and China, for the 2014 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica.
Draws for the tournament took place on December 17 at the Antigua Aduana, San Jose, Costa Rica.
The 2014 edition of the World Cup, which is the fourth edition, will be played across four stadia, three in San Jose and one in Liberia, from March 15 to April 4.
Fellow West African side, Ghana, was pitched in ‘the stand-out Group B’ with 2012 runners-up and champions of the 2008 inaugural edition, North Korea, alongside Germany and Canada.
The third African representative, Zambia, will have hosts, Costa Rica, alongside Venezuela and Italy, to contend with in Group A.
In Group C, 2010 runners-up, Japan, were paired with News Zealand, Paraguay and Spain.
Costa Rica will play Venezuela in the opening match of the tournament on March 15.
