Kaduna United Football Club on Friday beat visiting FC Taraba 3-1 in a Week 2 match in the ongoing 2013/2014 Nigerian Professional Football League.
Isa Aminu put the hosts in the lead from a penalty kick in the 12th minute of the match.
Iyorhe Luter however drew the visiting side level through a free kick in the 22nd minute.
The hosts thereafter dominated the match played at the Kaduna Township Stadium, but failed to convert its numerous goalscoring chances.
Ibrahim Sisi however restored Kaduna United’s lead during a goalmouth scramble immediately after the break, while Siman Yusuf added the third goal with a volleyed shot in the 66th minute.
Speaking shortly after the match, Coach Ndubisi Nduka of FC Taraba said they lost the game as a result of fatigue.
“We were very tired, because we had a problem with our bus when coming to Kaduna and we had to spend two days before reaching there,” Nduka said.
He however said the team would return to base to go and prepare ahead of their next match.
Also speaking, Garba Lawal, the Kaduna United FC General Manager, said he was satisfied with his team’s performance.
Lawal said they trained hard to win the match after they lost their first match.
He said: “The players have been motivated and they are really training hard to win their matches.”
The former Super Eagles midfielder added that his club hopes to be one of the best four by the end of the league competition.
