Nineteen home-based players arrived the Super Eagles’ camp on Monday ahead of the 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifier against the Taifa Stars of Tanzania.
The team’s Media Officer, Toyin Ibitoye, disclosed that the number of players at the Bolton White Apartments in Abuja rose to 19 as at dinner time, while four other players are still being expected.
Ibitoye said: “We have almost full house as we speak as all the players have continued to arrive camp in their numbers and the coaching crew are not leaving any stone unturned in order to raise a formidable side for Nigeria.
“The head coach, Sunday Oliseh, is also resolved to pick players on merit irrespective of the players personality as he has advised them to give their foreign-based counterparts a run for their money.”
The players already in camp, according to Ibitoye are Chima Akas, Godwin Obaje, Gbolahan Salami, Austin Obaroakpo, Idri Aloma, Orji Kalu, Bature Yaro, Paul Onobi, Dayo Ojo, Okiemute Odah, Ifeanyin Matthew, Ikechukwu Ezenwa, Prince Aggrey, Kingsley Sokari, Solomon Kwambe, Stephen Eze, Oghenekaro Etebo, Prince Aggrey and Bright Onyedikachi.
