Sixteen teams have registered to participate in the Kwara State Beach Soccer Championship scheduled to commence on October 26 in Ilorin.
Construction work and spreading of the beach sand are on going at the pitch site inside the State Stadium, Ilorin as at the time our correspondent visited the place.
Speaking with our correspondent, the Project Coordinator, Saraki Rasheed, said the championship that would end on October 29, is to encourage the brand in the State.
The Beach Soccer Ambassador, Isiaka Olawale, who was also on ground, commended the initiative and the support so far receive from the government.
Olawale, who is the Captain of the Nation’s Sand Eagles, called on the people to take the advantage to develop their talents.
