Another innocent person has again fallen victim of unknown motorcyclists who had been stabbing pedestrians at night in Bauchi.
The victim, 15 year-old Aminullahi Ahmed, was stabbed at about 8pm on Sunday, along a major highway in Fadaman Mada area of the metropolis.
Guardian of the victim, Ibrahim Yahaya, told News Agency of Nigeria on Monday that Ahmed, in company of three others, was walking along the road behind Government Girls College, Bauchi, when the motorcyclist slowed down and stabbed him with a double-edged sharp instrument.
Yahaya said: “After stabbing him, he tried to stab a second person but was not successful. Thereafter, he zoomed off.”
“From the perforations on the stomach of the victim, it is clear that double-aged instrument was used; same mark was noticed on previous victims of similar incident.”
NAN Correspondent who visited the victim at the Specialists’ Hospital, Bauchi, reports that he is now in stable condition.
NAN reports that no fewer than six similar incidents have so far been recorded within Fadaman Mada area of the metropolis in past 10 days, instilling fear in the minds of residents of the area.
ontacted for their comments on the matter, Bauchi State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Kamal Datti and the Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in the state, Raji Ibrahim, pledged that measures would be taken to check the menace.
