No fewer than 15 persons have been reported killed by herdsmen in fresh attack on six communities in Saghev council ward of Guma Local Government Area of Benue State.
The coordinated attacks were said to have been carried out between Friday evening and Saturday morning.
The communities attacked were Tse Abi, Tse Ginde, Tse Peviv, Tse Ikyo, Agenke and Gbenke.
The attackers wore military uniforms and shot sporadically while also setting houses ablaze.
The spokesman for the community, Paul Unande, confirmed the invaders wore military uniform and launched their attack at about 2am.
Terver Akase, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Samuel Ortom, confirmed the development.
Akase said it was a continuation of the agenda to take over Benue State by extremists and their sponsors.
Akase asked the Federal Government to declare the herdsmen terrorists while also pleading with security agencies to live up to their responsibility.
