A 14-year-old Junior Secondary School 1 student Aderegun Community High School, Ogijo in Ogun State has been raped by a 24-year-old man, Gadafi Bala.
According to information available to The Eagle Online, the incident allegedly occurred on March 28, 2024.
It was learnt that operatives of the Ogun State Police Command received a report of the incident from Ifesowapo Otitoloju Community Development Association in Ilara Ogijo.
As soon as the Divisional Police Officer in Ogijo received the report, he was reported to have visited the victim and issued an examination form for evaluation, which result proved positive that Bala had unlawful carnal knowledge of the victim.
Sequel to the result being confirmed by a doctor of a government-owned hospital, Bala was promptly arrested.
It was learnt that preliminary investigation has commenced into the matter and that the case will be transferred to State Criminal Investigation Department, Eleweran, Abeokuta for discreet investigation.

The spokesperson of the Command, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the development to The Eagle Online.
Odutola, a Superintendent of Police, said no case of gender-based violence will be allowed to be swept under the carpet.
She said: “No person involved in GBV will evade punishment as it is a serious crime of human right violations.”
