President Goodluck Jonathan was on Thursday, again, humiliated by youths as the Peoples Democratic Party presidential campaign train arrived in Bauchi.
The angry youths hurled stones at the presidential convoy after the rally at the Ibrahim Babangida Square in Bauchi, during which six personnel of the Department of State Services attached to the Presidential Villa, were wounded and rushed to the hospital.
As the President’s convoy was heading to the rally ground, some youths who displayed brooms and posters of the opposition All Progressives Congress tried to attack the convoy, but were overpowered by security operatives.
However, they laid ambush and attacked again as the convoy was leaving the rally ground.
They threw stones at the bus carrying men of the DSS, otherwise known as Body Guards, smashed the windscreen of the bus and injured many in the process.
The Eagle Online gathered that six of the bodyguards who were seriously injured were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital and are expected to be transferred to Abuja for proper treatment.
President Jonathan had on arrival in Bauchi around 11am gone straight to the Emir’s palace to pay homage before going for the rally.
It will be recalled that irate youths attacked the President’s convoy earlier in the week in Katsina.
Also at the venue of the Bauchi rally, stones, hammers and slippers were hurled at chieftains of the PDP on the podium.
Those affected included the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Senator Bala Mohammed.
